Does your year start in January? Then go for the compact note 2027 — 12 months, large notes section, 22.95 €.
Does it start in Autumn — semester, school year, fiscal year from July or October? Then take the compact extended 2027 — 18 months from October 2026 to March 2028, 26.95 €.
Everything else — format, paper, binding, planning logic — is identical on both. Four euros' difference, one decision.

Why 18 months are more than six extra months
The compact extended starts in October — right when semester and school year are well under way and planning for the new year begins. It ends in March, when the next book has long been bought.
That gives you buffer at both ends. No period when you flip back and forth between two books because the appointment is in next year but the book ends in December.
If, on the other hand, you think firmly in calendar years, you'd be paying for buffer you don't need. Then the compact note is the right — and cheaper — choice.

Can I switch to the compact extended mid-year?
Yes — that's exactly what it's made for. Because it starts in October, you begin right at the start of the semester or school year without waiting for January.
Is the notes section smaller in the extended?
The compact note has the larger free notes section because it has fewer calendar pages to fit in. The extended uses the space for quarterly and goal pages. If you write a lot, the note is the better home.
Do both fit the same covers and accessories?

Which one is more popular?
The compact note — simply because most people plan in calendar years. But if you're studying or working in an offset fiscal year, you'll almost always reach for the extended and stay with it.
