Wall planners & year plannersBoards3 × portrait A2 · 41.5 × 59 cm

Eighteen months.
Three sheets.

A year planner ends on 31 December – and that is exactly where the interesting planning begins. The 18-Month Wall Planner is made up of three portrait A2 half-year sheets. Once the first one is used up, you take it down and the next moves in. Your view ahead always reaches equally far.

What is an 18-month wall planner?

A planner that never runs out.

Three half-year sheets side by side make eighteen months. That sounds like a number, but it is a way of working: the turn of the year is no longer at the edge of your planner, it sits right in the middle.

The system is modular – and the trick is in the swap: once the first half-year is over, its sheet comes down. The extra half-year moves left into its place, and the next one joins on the right. Not a single appointment has to be rewritten, nothing gets reordered – there are simply eighteen months on the wall again.

That is exactly what solves the year-end problem: on a year planner the time available shrinks week by week from autumn onwards. Here it stays constant. And because the principle can be continued indefinitely, it works just as well for planning that reaches much further ahead.

Every sheet is built around calendar weeks to ISO 8601, with the weekdays laid out in rows and colour coding by quarter.

6On every half-year sheet

  • Six months as columns, portrait A2, printed on one side
  • calendar weeks to ISO 8601 with a clear calendar week number
  • Colour coding by quarter – the quarter is instantly recognisable
  • Days laid out in rows for taking it in fast
  • topic legend for coding your own colours and symbols
  • Week 5 visible at a glance – which months have five weeks?

Year number and year colour

The year sits in the top left, with a coloured dot in front of it – the year colour. When three sheets hang side by side and two of them show the same year, this is the fastest way to find the right one.

Which half-year is this?

The label H1, Q1–Q2 or H2, Q3–Q4 sits at the top. When you rehang the sheets, it is clear at once which one goes where.

A preview of the next half-year

The following half-year appears in miniature in the top right. So your view reaches beyond the sheet even before the next one is up.

Six months as columns

Every month is a column, every day a row. Three sheets with six months each make eighteen – read side by side with no break.

Week markers w1 to w5

The markers w1 to w5 run down both edges – they show the week within the month. So you can see at once which months have five weeks and which have four.

The large calendar week numbers

The pale numbers in the background are the calendar weeks to ISO 8601. They run through every column, across the change of month and the change of year alike.

Colour coding by quarter

Every quarter has its own colour. If you are planning across three sheets at once, you find the period by its colour before you read a single date – that is the point of the coding.

Legend and footnotes

At the bottom you will find the topic legend for coding your own colours and symbols, plus the footnotes on regional public holidays, grouped by German state.

Two starting points

Start in January – or in July.

Both versions are built identically and each covers eighteen months. The only difference is where the chain begins. That way you can continue it without a gap, whenever you join.

Why three sheets and not one big one? Because a single sheet showing eighteen months would be either unreadably small or unaffordably large. Three portrait A2 sheets side by side need around 1.3 metres of wall – and can be swapped one at a time.

Which period suits whom

Four periods. Seven products.

They are all built the same way. The difference is when they start – and whether the sheets are write-on, wipe-clean or come with rails included.

Four things a year planner cannot do

Autumn, the chain, the swap, the view

All four come down to the same thing: planning does not stick to calendar years.

Autumn

And what about next year?

From October you start planning the year ahead – exactly when a year planner has only three columns left. Here they simply carry on.

18 months
The chain

Keep planning without a gap

Two staggered periods per edition – January and July. That lets you continue the series without ever leaving a gap.

The swap

One sheet, not the lot

When a half-year is over, only that one sheet is swapped. The other two stay up – with everything already written on them.

The view

Always the same distance ahead

Because three sheets are always up, your view reaches twelve to eighteen months ahead at any point – not far in January and nowhere by December.

Three sheets, one wall

Measure once. Eighteen months in view.

Three portrait A2 sheets side by side need space – and after that, hardly any attention. Four things help.

01
Measure first, order second
One sheet measures 41.5 × 59 cm. Three side by side with a little space between them need around 1.3 metres of free wall. With less, hang two and swap more often.
02
Rails at the same height
The three hanging rails belong at exactly the same height, otherwise the timeline jumps. With the PREMIUM set they are included.
03
Order pre-punched if you swap sheets
The wipe-clean Plus, pre-punched version hooks on and off with no extra work. If you never swap, the unpunched version costs you less.
04
Set the legend once
The topic legend is printed on every sheet. Fill it in once – one colour per project, one symbol per person – and you will read the next eighteen months without thinking.

What makes it special

PREMIUM: your wall is done as soon as you unpack it.

With the PREMIUM set there is nothing to put together. It contains the three half-year planners in the wipe-clean Plus version – write on them with a non-permanent marker and wipe them clean again – plus three metal hanging rails. That turns the half-year change into a single move: lift the sheet out of the rail, hook the next one in, done.

What is in the set
  • 3 half-year planners in portrait A2, 41.5 × 59 cm each
  • Wipe-clean Plus surface, write on with non-permanent markers
  • 3 metal hanging rails, grey-lacquered metal
  • Gecko adhesive tape, removes without residue

Bought separately, three wipe-clean sheets and the matching rails cost noticeably more – the set bundles both for 59.90 €.

The accessory that makes swapping easy

Hanging Rail 4.0 – hang it up instead of taping it up.

Instead of clamp bars, tape or sticky strips: a rail in grey-lacquered metal. The sheet hooks in and lifts out again at the half-year change – crease-free, without residue, and without damaging the wall behind it.

  • Metal rail, grey lacquered
  • Works as a magnetic strip
  • Dimensions 450 × 30 × 1 mm, 100 g each
  • Fits formats from A5 to A1
  • Gecko adhesive tape, removes without residue
  • Can be screwed on, pre-drilled holes included
29.90 €Delivery includes: 2 rails plus Gecko adhesive tape

No drilling, no glue. The Gecko strips hold with thousands of tiny suction cups – they peel off again without taking paint or wallpaper with them. Three sheets side by side need three rails; in the PREMIUM set they are already included.

Who needs eighteen months

Three people whose planning runs longer

Not because they want to think further ahead – but because their dates already do.

On a project

“When will this be finished?”

Concept, build, test, rollout – when the phases together run longer than a year, a year planner stops in the middle of the project. Across three sheets the bar runs all the way through.

At school

“Two school years at once”

A school year does not fit into a calendar year. If you think from August to July, you need a planner that does not start on 1 January – and the July version does exactly that.

In the team

“Who is around in the autumn?”

Holiday planning for the following year starts in autumn. If eighteen months are already on the wall, people write their dates in instead of being put off.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the 18-Month Wall Planner

How much wall space does the set need?
Each sheet measures 41.5 × 59 cm – portrait A2, printed on one side. Three side by side with a little space between them need around 1.3 metres of free wall.
What does “modular” mean?
When a half-year is over, only that one sheet comes down. The other two stay up – with everything already written on them – and the next half-year joins them. So your view ahead always reaches equally far.
Which versions are available?
Four: paper, folded for 9.90 €, wipe-clean for 24.95 €, wipe-clean Plus for 34.95 € and wipe-clean Plus, pre-punched for 35.95 €. The pre-punched version is a precise fit for the weekview hanging rail.
Why are there two starting points?
Because planning does not always start in January. Each edition comes in a version starting in January and one starting in July. That way you can continue the series without a gap, whenever you join.
How exactly does the swap work?
Once the first half-year is over, its sheet comes down. The extra half-year moves into its place on the left, and the next one joins on the right. Not a single appointment has to be rewritten – and there are eighteen months on the wall again.
Do I really need a hanging rail?
No. Every sheet has pre-printed punch marks – an ordinary hole punch is enough, then the planner hangs on two hooks or nails. The metal Hanging Rail 4.0 makes hooking sheets in and out more comfortable and keeps them crease-free.
What do I write on the wipe-clean versions with?
With non-permanent markers, Lumocolor for example. They wipe off without residue. Permanent markers can leave traces.
What is included in the PREMIUM set?
Three half-year planners in the wipe-clean Plus version and three matching metal hanging rails. That makes the wall solution complete, with no need to order the rails separately. Price: 59.90 €.
What does the topic legend show?
It is a blank field for you to fill in: one colour per project, one symbol per person or topic. Set it once and you will read the planner without thinking – and everyone in the room reads it the same way.
What does “Week 5 visible at a glance” mean?
The week markers w1 to w5 sit on both edges. So you can see at a glance which months have four weeks and which have five – important when you spread workload across weeks.
And what if I do not need dates?
Then a Board is the right choice: same wall, same rail, but a surface with no year on it – the week with priorities, the quarter or a free kanban grid.
Ready to hang it up?

Three sheets. And your next year is planned.

As a paper sheet from 9.90 €, wipe-clean from 24.95 € – or go straight for the PREMIUM set with three hanging rails.
